We’d experienced the difficulties of trying to secure the tickets we wanted and were overwhelmed by the choices and information we had to wade through when choosing where to stay and what to do.

Meet the Team

Ben Mortimer

Managing Director

Ben’s passion for American sports began in the 1980s with Channel 4’s NFL coverage but truly ignited in the early 2000s when work took him to Baltimore and sparked a deep connection with the Ravens. Years of tailgating, season tickets, and traveling to games inspired him to launch MVP Travel in 2016, bringing the excitement of US sports to UK fans. A fan of all major US leagues, Ben also enjoys motor racing and golf (more watching than playing), and supports Newcastle United – grateful at least one of his teams has seen success.

CJ Mortimer

Operations Director

CJ brings an authentic American touch to the MVP team, having grown up in southern New Jersey as a Giants fan before moving to Baltimore and developing a soft spot for the Ravens. A proud high school football stat-keeper, she even earned a lettered jacket – an honour usually reserved for players. With a marketing degree from Salisbury University and an MBA from Loyola University, she moved to the UK in 2011, where she embraced British culture, quirky sayings, and the Great British Sewing Bee.

Ryan Roodt

Marketing Director

Born and raised in South Africa, Ryan’s passion for sport – especially live events – started early and hasn’t let up since. After travelling the world and spending time in Atlanta, he picked up his first NFL jersey (Matt Ryan, of course), and has been a die-hard Falcons fan ever since. When he’s not deep in campaign strategy or optimising paid search accounts, you’ll probably find him catching up on American football or planning his next live sports fix.

Harry Wise

Reservation Supervisor

Harry joined MVP in 2019, the same year a family trip to Florida and a Buccaneers game sparked his passion for Tampa Bay – just before Tom Brady’s arrival saved him from glory supporter status. A former intern on Hilton Head Island, his love for the U.S. continues to grow, with Nashville high on his travel list. When not leading tours or planning trips, he enjoys time with his wife and young son, while enduring the ups and (mostly) downs of being a Man United fan.

Georgia Black

Office Administrator

Georgia has been a key part of the MVP team since 2022, known for her ruthless efficiency, sharp design skills, and creating most of our itineraries and social posts. A passionate traveller with a love for the U.S., she spent a year in California during university and returned for a road trip last summer – thankfully coming back to the office after. Her standout travel moment was visiting Antelope Canyon, which she described as “like stepping onto another planet!” A true foodie, Georgia also loves seeking out unique places to try new cuisines.

Ed West

Tour Lead

A true American sports fan, Ed supports the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and – somewhat unusually – the Boston Celtics. His love of travel fits perfectly with his role, and when he’s not on the move, he coaches tennis in the summer and endures the struggles of being a Leeds United fan. Not a fan of mushrooms or tomatoes, he skips the full English in favour of pancake stacks on our US tours.
