Our 3rd instalment in our series looks at the Volunteer State and sees what Tennessee has to offer in the new Virtual Tourism era.

Is staying home, distancing and isolating starting to get to you? Feeling the wanderlust that only a cracking holiday can cure and looking to plan your next travel adventure for when this is all behind us? Fear not! We’re working from home too and, while we can’t wait to get fans booked to experience their perfect sports holiday, we thought it’d be a great idea to offer some virtual tours of some top US destinations. Known not only for their sports teams, these cities and states also offer a lot more and we hope our guides inspire you, ready for sunnier days ahead!

Nashville
The Music City is hosting a whole bunch of virtual attractions to entertain people from home, just because you can’t be inside Nashville’s attractions, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them! Take a look at their full list of attractions here. Some of the highlights include the Country Music Hall of Fame where you can watch pre-recorded live performances, interviews, songwriter sessions and podcasts. Or the Jack Daniels Distillery where you can take a virtual tour and learn about the whiskey-making process and all that goes into it.

The Grand Ole Opry is streaming virtual concerts every Saturday through Circle All Access. From 8pm Eastern Time, watch favourite country music artists and discover emerging talent home, as if in the historic building itself. The world’s longest running radio show will be broadcast without an audience but will continue its 94-year broadcast tradition.

For the family as whole, you can head to the Nashville Public Library where they are hosting online Puppet Shows to entertain the young and old alike. Please see the link here where you can watch all the previous shows.

Chattanooga
The Songbird Guitar Museums is offering guitar lessons from scratch with Songbirds Foundation’s video series (24 videos); watch the Vault Sessions series on YouTube with over 80 episodes available with artists like Steve Earle, Eric Johnson, John 5, Drew & Ellie Holcomb, Kevin Bacon, Tommy Emmanuel, and more!

Memphis
Memphians are also getting creative with virtual tours and experiences and like Nashville, have a webpage dedicated to different ongoing experiences. Please click here to find out more. A few experiences on offer include cocktail making classes with mixologist Morgan McKinney (exactly what we all need in lockdown!), multiple online/ virtual yoga and fitness classes and live storytime streams at the Memphis Public Library.

The Memphis Brooks Museums of Art are also hosting a virtual chalk fest, where you can create your wildest sidewalk art using chalk and then send your Tennessee photos into Instagram or Facebook. With winners been featured across the social platforms. A link to their website can be found here.

Whatever your interests, attractions are working hard to provide you with some great virtual content and this allows you to get ahead on planning a future holiday! If you’re looking for a Tennessee sports trip, then get in touch now and complete our MVP Travel request form and we will be in touch.
